‘I have been selected… What happens now?’
You have been selected, congratulations! However, to be officially enroled in our Master’s, there are several steps.
Step 1: confirm
Confirm you are attending the Master’s (check your emails over the summer).
Make sure accommodation and visa formalities are all taken care of, for a smooth start in late October. You should be aiming to be in Paris by mid-October at the latest.
Step 2: CVEC
Pay for the CVEC as soon as you know you will be attending. (More information on what the CVEC is here.)
To pay for it, first go on this website https://www.messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr/envole/enregistrement to register (Click on the flag on the right hand corner to have the English version).
Once this is done, go on https://cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr/ then click on “obtenir mon attestation année universitaire en cours” in the purple box (scroll down). You will need the same logins. If you have any issue, email your coordinator with a screenshot attached.
Once you have paid, you will receive a sort of receipt/certificate with a code, keep it as you will need it for the next step of your registration.
Step 3: administrative registration
It takes a while before this can happen. It does not depend on your coordinator, but on another service of the administrative team that has to handle all the Masters’ of Université Paris Cité. Do not worry if you still have not done your administrative registration when classes start, just do it as soon as you are told that you can.
You will be sent an automatic email in French with a code and a link to register.
Before you start, make sure you have:
- the login received by email
- the code given by the CROUS (by email) as proof as your payment of the CVEC
- a bank card to pay for the master’s fees
- a French address*
- on your computer: a picture of yourself, a proof of identity (passport…), your visa, your high school diploma with the grades
During this part of registration, you will have to pay your tuition fees. Once your administrative registration is completed, you will receive your student number. Make a note of it and keep this information carefully. You will also be sent a student card (carte étudiante).
Once you have your student number, you will have to go on another link to upload some documents.
*If you do not have a secure French address when doing this step, you will not be able to register. You are allowed to use a temporary address to register, but they will use it to send your student card. Many cards end up being lost, so be aware of that or you may need to pay 13€ for a new card!
Here is a step-by-step guide of the administrative registration.
Step4: certificate of enrolment
After having completed all the steps from the step-by-step guide above, you will be able to get your certificate of enrolment (certificat de scolarité ). It is all explained in the guide linked above.
